Nestled in the heart of Buffalo, NY, Elmwood Village has transformed from its rural beginnings—once known as "Shingletown"—into one of the city's most vibrant neighborhoods. Between 1867 and 1941, it grew into a thriving residential district framed by the visionary designs of Frederick Law Olmsted’s renowned park system.
Today, the village is alive with local businesses, art galleries, diverse architecture, and world-class museums. Recognized on the National Register of Historic Places, the neighborhood stands as one of Buffalo’s most intact and treasured historic districts—including our corner of the village, from Chapin Parkway to Delaware Avenue.
